Girl Scouts. Where Girls Grow Strong.

Girl Scout Mission
Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. Scouting helps girls develop their full potential, relate to others with respect, develop values that guide their actions and contribute to society.

The Girl Scout Promise
On my honor, I will try
To serve God and my country
To help people at all times
And to live by the Girl Scout Law

The Girl Scout Law
I will do my best to be
honest and fair,
friendly and helpful,
considerate and caring,
courageous and strong, and
responsible for what I say and do
and to respect myself and others,
respect authority,
use resources wisely,
make the world a better place, and
be a sister to every Girl Scout.

Girl Scout troops give the girls the opportunity to form friendships, develop leadership qualities, learn great information for life, and enjoy fun-filled activities. Girls Scouts are open to children in the Parish as young as kindergarten and continuing through 12th grade. The levels of Girl Scouts are:

Daisies – kindergarten and 1st grade
Brownies  – 2nd and 3rd grades
Juniors – 4th and 5th gradesCadettes - 6th-8th gradesSeniors: 9th and 10th gradesAmbassadors:  11th and 12th grades

Troop meetings are a lot of fun and they generally meet at OLV after school. The girls earn patches for achievements ranging from religion to first aid and drama, and enjoy a variety of activities including camping. The Scouts perform service projects for the Parish and local community.
